The Los Angeles Clippers tied for the third best record in the Western Conference but will enter as the No. 4 seed and take on the fifth seed Dallas Mavericks in the first round. Los Angeles has its stars Kawhi Leonard and Paul George ready for what could be a deep playoff run, and the franchise should not be too concerned with injuries down the roster early on.
Los Angeles Clippers injury report
Serge Ibaka, back — According to Shams Charania, Ibaka’s lingering back issues will sideline him for Game 3. With the Clippers down 2-0, Ibaka could’ve provided a much-need interior presence defensively. Los Angeles will have to find other ways to contain the Mavericks offensively to stay alive in the series.
Amir Coffey, illness — It remains uncertain whether the Clippers’ reserve guard will return to the floor for Game 1 of the series. He has been in the NBA’s health and safety protocols and hasn’t appeared in a game since April 28th. Through 44 games, he averages 3.2 points per game this season.
DeMarcus Cousins, foot — At 30 years old, Cousins is nowhere near where he once was earlier in his career. Through 41 games this season between the Houston Rockets and Clippers, he is averaging 8.9 points and 6.4 rebounds per game in a reserve role. He is listed as questionable for Game 1 of the first round with left foot soreness.
