The Tampa Bay Rays announced on Wednesday that right-handed pitcher Luis Patino has been placed on the 10-day injured list due to a laceration on his finger. Along with Patino, the Rays also put left-handed pitcher Cody Reed on the 10-day IL.

To replace both of their spots on the 26-man roster, Tampa Bay recalled pitchers Louis Head and Trevor Richards from Triple-A. The Rays will also have outfielder Kevin Kiermaier back in the starting lineup, who missed time with a left wrist sprain.

Patino was on the mound Tuesday night against the Baltimore Orioles, where he only went 3.1 innings pitched. In that short stint, he allowed 6 hits, 4 runs, 4 earned runs, 2 walks, but still managed to produce 6 strikeouts. This season for the Rays, the 21-year-old pitcher has a record of 1-1 with an ERA of 3.60 through five starts.
