NASCAR is headed to Austin, Texas for a rare road course in 2021 — and on a new track. The Cup Series will be racing at Circuit of the Americas for the first time in a brand new race — the EchoPark Texas Grand Prix. The race is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, May 23. It will air on FS1 and be available via live stream on FOX.com/live and through the Bally Sports app.
Chase Elliott is the favorite, installed by DraftKings Sportsbook at +240 to win and -148 to finish in the top three. He’s followed by Martin Truex Jr. (+450, +125), Denny Hamlin (+1000, +275), Kyle Busch (+1300, +350), and Kyle Larson (+1400, +375).
This marks the third road course on the Cup Series schedule, with the first two taking place at the Daytona Road Course. The circuit opened on February 9 with the Busch Clash at Daytona, with Kyle Busch winning followed by Chase Elliott, Joey Logano, Tyler Reddick, and William Byron. 12 days later, Christopher Bell won the O’Reilly Auto Parts 253. The top five included Bell, Joey Logan, Denny Hamlin, Kurt Busch, and Brad Keselowski.
This race will be only the third Cup Series race this year to have pre-race qualifying. NASCAR has gone to a primarily performance-metric formula to determine race order in order to minimize the potential spread of COVID-19. Eight tracks will feature qualifying, which has already included the Daytona 500 and the dirt course at Bristol Motor Speedway.
Here are the odds for all the drivers competing in the 2021 EchoPark Texas Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas road course.
