Indiana Pacers star center Domantas Sabonis will play in the play-in tournament game against the Charlotte Hornets Tuesday night, head coach Nate Bjorkgren confirmed to reporters. The winner of this game will meet the loser of the Celtics-Wizards matchup while the loser will be eliminated from the postseason.
Sabonis is a big boost for Indiana on both ends of the floor. He’s averaging 20.3 points, 12.0 rebounds and 6.7 assists per game this season and will need to have another big game with many of Indiana’s key contributors either out or dealing with injuries.
The Pacers are slight favorites against the Hornets at -1.5. While Sabonis’ presence probably will not impact that line, his availability should give bettors backing Indiana more confidence.
