Moneyline pick, best player prop for Indians vs. Angels on Tuesday

We go over some of the best betting options for Tuesday’s matchup between the Cleveland Indians and Los Angeles Angels.

Mike Trout is probably still the best player in baseball, but he’s not even the most talented player on his own team. Right now, baseball feels like Shohei Ohtani’s domain and we simply must watch in awe. He hammered his MLB-leading 13th homer on Monday night, driving a shoulder-high fastball out of the park as the Los Angeles Angels defeated the Cleveland Indians. Whether he’s at the plate or on the mound, this baseball unicorn is the most must-see player in the game at the moment.

Here are some ideal picks for this game on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Indians vs. Angels, 9:38 p.m. ET, ESPN+

Moneyline pick: Indians (+104)

Tonight’s game provides an interesting pitching matchup between a couple of talented and underrated starters: Indians’ Zach Plesac and Angels’ Andrew Heaney. I think Plesac has the edge here, especially with how well he has thrown recently. Plesac has allowed a total of two runs through his past three starts, a span of 21.2 innings. Both of those runs came in his most recent start, when he didn’t even allow a hit through his first seven innings versus the Mariners. Plus, it appears the Angels will be without Trout for some amount of time after he departed Monday’s game due to a calf strain.

Player Prop: Shohei Ohtani to hit a home run (+325)

Why not? There appears to be nothing Ohtani can’t do in baseball, and the plate coverage he has shown recently — homering on pitches both hard and in, and soft and away — is impressive. He now leads MLB in home runs and while Plesac is a quality pitcher, Ohtani has already taken the likes of Tyler Glasnow, Liam Hendriks and Matt Barnes deep this year. No matchup would cause me to worry about him in the batter’s box. We are watching something uniquely special right now. Soak it in.
