Projecting Dallas Cowboys skill position depth chart and fantasy impact

The Cowboys hope to stay healthy in 2021 and put up big offensive numbers with their Top-4 fantasy football studs.

The 202 season was a lost one for the Dallas Cowboys after Dak Prescott went down with a season-ending ankle injury in Week 5. The team finished with a 6-10 record and chalked 2020 up to bad luck. They did end up paying Prescott by signing him to a long-term contract this offseason. And they added defensive help with their first six picks of the 2021 NFL Draft. They didn’t do much to upgrade their offensive line, but they believe Tyron Smith, La’el Collins and Zack Martin are healthy and ready to go in 2021. They’ll need to be.

Biggest offseason changes

The biggest change will be getting Dak Prescott back and healthy while also securing him to a multi-year contract. Otherwise, the team lost backup and last year’s starter Andy Dalton and that’s about it. They’ll also get tight end Blake Jarwin back from injury, who was supposed to be their 2021 starter.

Biggest questions for fantasy football

The biggest fantasy football question going into this season is whether or not the offensive line can stay healthy. They’ve got the skill, but health derailed them the last couple years and the team hasn’t added much depth. If they can stay healthy, you can count on strong fantasy seasons from Prescott, Cooper and Lamb while Jarwin and Gallup will have fringe fantasy value.

No matter the offensive line, the offense will be much better with Prescott healthy, so their Big 4 are all strong fantasy picks this season, but to reach their upside the line needs health. It will be interesting to see how Lamb and Cooper have their targets distributed. I like Lamb’s upside more, but Cooper is the WR1 going into this season. His health feels more concerning that Lamb’s and he is likely gone after this season, so the team won’t need to cater to him quite as much.
