If the Kansas City Royals score early on May 14 against the Chicago White Sox, you can score big right along with them!

In honor of the anniversary of PASPA’s repeal, DraftKings Sportsbook has installed an odds boost for this afternoon’s Royals-White Sox game. The line on the Royals to score in the first inning has been boosted all the way up to +514. Make sure you opt in on that special opportunity! You can bet up to $25. Let’s examine that prop as well as how to play this game’s moneyline odds.

Royals vs. White Sox, 3:10 p.m. ET

Moneyline pick: White Sox (-225)

The Royals will win a game ... at some point. But they are currently riding an 11-game losing streak, their longest skid since 2012. To bet that they will break their fall with a road win over the White Sox, who are the hottest team in the AL and own the best winning percentage in baseball, is a waste of good money. The White Sox have outscored their opponents by five runs per game during their current six-game winning streak.

Odds boost: Royals to score a run in the first inning +514

There are a couple of reasons to believe this prop will come through for you today. For starters, White Sox starting pitcher Lucas Giolito has been most vulnerable in the first inning this year. He has allowed eight first-inning runs this year and then only 12 more runs from innings 2-8. Granted, six of those first-inning runs came during a disastrous start at Boston last month, but that doesn’t negate the point that you can get to Giolito early.

And when Giolito last faced the Royals — May 9 in KC — he pitched five innings and his only run allowed came in the first. Kansas City would go on to lose that game, 9-3, but you don’t need them to win to cash in here. They just need to score immediately, and they have shown the ability to do that against Giolito. There’s legitimate hope here.
