So much ink was spilled about the Dodgers and Padres entering this season, so here we are on May 14 and it’s the San Francisco Giants who have the best winning percentage in the National League and lead the NL West by 2.5 games. They will take on the Pirates, who have dropped 11 of their last 14 games. The Giants took Thursday’s series opener, 3-1. Here are a couple of ideal picks for this game on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Moneyline pick: Giants (-205)
Runs have been hard to come by for Pittsburgh recently; they have scored two or fewer runs in nine of their past 11 games. That probably won’t change tonight when the Pirates see Kevin Gausman. The Giants’ ace has allowed no more than one run in six of his seven starts this season and has a 1.97 ERA. Buster Posey and Co. should do enough damage to give the Giants another win. Pitcher Tyler Anderson, who has been sneaky-good for the Pirates this season, was originally scheduled to start this game, but he has been replaced by Miguel Yajure, one of Pittsburgh’s top pitching prospects. He’ll make his second career MLB start tonight while Anderson will now go on Saturday.
Player Prop: Kevin Gausman to record a win (+110)
Gausman is 3-0 entering this start. He could very well be 6-0 with some better run support. The Giants’ lineup won’t be at 100 percent tonight with Brandon Belt and Brandon Crawford probably out of the lineup, but with Gausman holding opponents to one run or fewer so often and getting a turn against the offensively challenged Buccos, he won’t need much support in order to earn the W tonight.
