Thursday night boasts a big slate of NBA games as we have 18 teams in action through nine games, tipping off at 7:00p.m. ET, with the last game tipping off at 10:00p.m. ET while a slew of teams fight for playoff positioning with only a few games left in the regular season.
Sometimes with a plus-matchup on the NBA game slate, we get an opportunity to slot multiple players from the same team into our DFS lineups. You can read more about the concept of stacking here, but the main goal is to take advantage of this plus-matchup and use the salary cap to your advantage.
Here, we’ll break down three of the best team stacks for the NBA slate on Thursday, May 13th.
Milwaukee Bucks vs. Indiana Pacers, 7:00p.m. ET
Giannis Antetokounmpo ($10,900)
Khris Middleton ($8,400)
Bobby Portis ($5,200)
Brook Lopez ($4,900)
The Bucks have a favorable match-up against the Indiana Pacers tonight who will be without some key players, allowing Milwaukee’s offense to run wild. Giannis is an absolute no-brainer, but rounding out the stack with Middleton and a couple value picks who can easily deliver anywhere from 20-40 DKFP on any given night. Brook Lopez recently put in a 38.25 DKFP performance against the Rockets last week while scoring at least 20 in his last five outings. Bobby Portis is coming off a great performance as well, logging 10 points and 15 rebounds while racking up 35.25 DKFP against the Orlando Magic on Tuesday.
Denver Nuggets vs. Minnesota Timberwolves, 8:00p.m. ET
Nikola Jokic ($11,000)
Michael Porter Jr. ($8,600)
Facundo Campazzo ($5,800)
Aaron Gordon ($5,100)
Even with Jamal Murray out long-term, the Nuggets have still managed to stay one of the hottest teams in the league, locking up an automatic playoff berth and sitting comfortably in fourth place in the west. They’ll take on a struggling Timberwolves side who have already been eliminated from playoff contention. MVP candidate Nikola Jokic has been monstrous for Denver this season especially in Murray’s absence, averaging 57.5 DKFP all season long. Porter Jr. is anohter solid pick as he’s delivered over 40 DKFP in his last three games straight and has proven to easily be worth his salary. Closer to the value side of things, Campazzo has seen increased minutes and has averaged 35.3 DKFP throughout his last five games while recently putting in a 47.75 fantasy point performance against the Knicks last week.
Portland Trail Blazers vs. Phoenix Suns, 10:00p.m. ET
Damian Lillard ($9,500)
CJ McCollum ($7,900)
Jusuf Nurkic ($7,200)
Carmelo Anthony ($4,000)
The Blazers are one of the best teams in the league at the moment, extending their win streak to five after a win over the Utah Jazz on Wednesday. This stack comes in as the cheapest of the bunch, but could end up being the most fruitful. Lillard delivered again against the Jazz, putting in 44.5 DKFP which is actually his lowest score since April 28th. Nurkic had himself a big night, racking up 53.75 DKFP with 11 points, 15 rebounds, and six assists in Utah. Rounding off the entire stack with a solid value pick with Carmelo at only $4,000 seems to be the smart move, as he’s put in some solid performances over the last few weeks as well, dropping 24 DKFP against the Jazz with 18 points and two rebounds. Honestly, you could stack either team in this game, but with the way the Blazers have been playing lately it’s hard to pass them up.
