The puck drops on the start of the 2021 NHL Playoffs on Saturday, May 15 and the No. 2 Washington Capitals and No. 3 Boston Bruins will open the festivities. Game 1 is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. ET on Saturday, and will air on NBC. The teams will play every other day with subsequent games airing on NBC Sports Network.
The Capitals have a veteran team that is going to play tough and beat you on special teams. Washington ranks 5th in goals per game (3.36) and 3rd on the PP (24.8 percent). There are big question marks in net with Vitek Vanecek and Ilya Samsonov.
This is going to be a slugfest of a matchup with the Bruins and Capitals. Boston will go as far as its first line of Patrice Bergeron, Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak will take it. The defense and goaltending are still solid anchored by Charlie McAvoy and Tuukka Rask and Jaroslav Halak in net.
Below is a full rundown of the Bruins-Capitals series and how to watch it. The NBC games are all available at NBCSports.com/live and on the NBC Sports app.
