Moneyline pick, best player prop for Cubs vs. Indians on Wednesday

We go over some of the best betting options for Wednesday’s matchup between the Chicago Cubs and Cleveland Indians.

MLB: Pittsburgh Pirates at Chicago Cubs Kamil Krzaczynski-USA TODAY Sports

The Cleveland Indians have been among the hottest teams in the month of May, as they won seven of their last eight games heading into Game 2 of their series with the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday afternoon. Cleveland won Tuesday’s game 3-2 as Shane Bieber increased his MLB record with eight strikeouts in 20 consecutive starts.

The Cubs will turn to righthander Zach Davies on Wednesday, and he is coming in with a 2-2 record and 6.30 ERA in seven starts. After a rough start to the season, he has come away with two productive outings including his las time out with seven shutout innings. Lefty Sam Hentges will throw for Cleveland in his first career MLB start. He is 1-0 with a 5.00 ERA in four appearances this season.

Cubs vs. Indians, 1:10 p.m. ET

Moneyline pick: Cubs +112

It’s easy to bet against Davies with an ERA that high with seven starts, but he’s pitched much better. In his last two outings, he allowed just one earned run in 11 innings of work in a pair of Cubs wins. Chicago is getting plus odds against a pitcher in his first start, and Davies has been much better than his current numbers in recent seasons. The Cubs have a lot of value in this spot.
