Moneyline pick, best player prop for Royals vs. Tigers on Tuesday

We go over some of the best betting options for Tuesday’s matchup between the Kansas City Royals and Detroit Tigers,

MLB: Kansas City Royals at Detroit Tigers Tim Fuller-USA TODAY Sports

The Detroit Tigers are off to the worst start to the 2021 season at 10-24 so far as they are set to host the Kansas City Royals for a three-game series starting on Tuesday night. The Tigers won their last game on Saturday to snap a skid in which they lost eight of their previous nine games. The Royals are in a major free fall at 16-17, as they will look to avoid their ninth consecutive loss.

Detroit will start lefty Matthew Boyd, who is 2-3 with a 2.27 ERA in six starts. He left his last start on April 29 after seven batters with knee tendonitis. Kansas City will turn to righthander Brady Singer to stop this skid. He is 1-3 with a 3.41 ERA going into his seventh start of the season.

Royals vs. Tigers, 7:10 p.m. ET, ESPN+

Moneyline pick: Royals -134

The best cure to an eight-game losing streak just might be a matchup with the Tigers because the Royals haven’t won since May 1. Boyd has gotten off to a strong start, but he hasn’t started a game without injury since April 24, so he could be a bit rusty in his return. In addition, Kansas City has been a much better road team with an 8-5 record outside of their home stadium. We’re going with the Royals to snap the losing streak in this spot.

Player Prop: Brady Singer over 6.5 strikeouts (+105)

We are going to be sticking with the Royals when it comes to our player prop for tonight’s contest. Singer will be on the mound Kansas City, who will be facing the Tigers for the second time this season. In his first start against Detroit, the rookie pitcher was electric, allowing 3 hits, 1 earned run, and striking out eight hitters in 7.0 IP.

When it comes to his strikeout prop, Singer has only gone over 6.5 once, which came against the Tigers. But he had back-to-back starts where he posted six strikeouts. Also, Detroit’s offense is one of the worst in the majors and averaging 10.41 strikeouts per game and 11 K’s per game on the road.
