Washington Wizards All-Star Bradley Beal is going to miss at least the next two games before being re-evaluated on Friday after straining his hamstring, Shams Charania reported early Monday. Beal was ruled out for Monday’s game vs. the Atlanta Hawks after injuring his hamstring over the weekend. The Wizards are in 9th place in the East and are 0.5 games up on the Indiana Pacers in the play-in tournament picture entering the final week of the regular season.
The Wizards start a back-to-back vs. the Hawks on Monday, which won’t be easy without Beal considering Atlanta is also jockeying for position in the East. After that, the Wiz face the Cleveland Cavaliers and Charlotte Hornets. The schedule isn’t too bad if the Wizards can split with the Hawks. Good thing for Washington is the team has plenty of clearance on the Chicago Bulls, who are in 11th place, 3.0 games back of the Wizards.
With Beal sidelined, it’s Russell Westbrook’s team. Russ is $11,000 on DraftKings and will be the most popular GPP play most likely. Ish Smith and Davis Bertans are both under $4K and will be solid value options for cash games and tournaments on Monday night. Remember, Beal accounts for 31 points per game, which is about 27 percent of the Wizards’ offense. Westbrook, Rui Hachimura ($4,900) and Bertans should be tasked with making up the loss on offense.
