We take a look at the fantasy football impact of the New Orleans Saints’ selections in the 2021 NFL Draft.

The New Orleans Saints are entering a new era with the retirement of future Hall of Fame quarterback Drew Brees earlier this offseason. Head coach Sean Payton and GM Mickey Loomis will need to use the eight draft picks they have in their pocket to keep the team competitive with the reigning Super Bowl Champions in their division.

Currently, New Orleans looks like it’s planning on heading into the season with either Jameis Winston or Taysom Hill as it’s starting quarterback. So what are some other spots the Saints could look to cash in on in the draft?

With Emmanuel Sanders heading off to Buffalo, they’ll need to find a dynamic pass-catcher to add to compliment TreQuan Smith. They could also use a hand at linebacker or any position in the defensive backfield.

Ian Book

Book has plenty of wins under his belt, but has trouble getting the ball outside the numbers. His arm strength is subpar for the NFL, but he makes up for it with good pocket awareness and can get himself in position to make needed throws. He’s likely a career backup at best and not a useful fantasy hold in dynasty.
