Fantasy impact of Colts 2021 NFL Draft selections

The Indianapolis Colts season will hinge on how well Carson Wentz plays, as the team has the personnel to win as long as the quarterback can be consistent and cut down on mistakes. That might be a tough assignment for Wentz after his disastrous 2020, but we’ve seen him play better in the past.

And one thing is for sure, Wentz was lacking time in the pocket in Philadelphia with so many offensive line injuries. The Colts have had one of the top offensive lines over the last few years, but did lose a big piece when Anthony Costanzo retired. The Colts will be very much on the lookout for another good left tackle. And the good news is that this draft is one of the better ones on the offensive line. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if they went with a lineman at pick No. 21, which is also likely to be the best for Carson Wentz, Jonathan Taylor and T.Y Hilton’s fantasy upside.

Fantasy football impact

The Colts just traded for Carson Wentz this offseason and drafted a QB in 2020 in Jacob Eason with a fourth-round pick. Adding Ehlinger as a third-string isn’t a bad call. Indy doesn’t know how long Wentz will hold up and he could go back to struggling despite reuniting with coach Frank Reich. Ehlinger has some potential as a pocket passer, so this is a pick that makes sense with the Colts’ offensive line being elite. Ehlinger has no fantasy football impact in the immediate and his dynasty stock is low at this point behind Eason.
