The Charlotte Hornets (26-24) will take on the Milwaukee Bucks (32-19) tonight as they wrap up a six-game road trip before heading back home. The Hornets have a lot of ground to cover as they sit 5.5 games behind the Bucks, but will hope that without Giannis Antetokounmpo (knee) on the floor, they’ll be able to make some magic happen. This will be the fourth game straight without Giannis, of which the Bucks have only won two.

While I don’t necessarily think the Hornets will win this game, I do think they have a pretty solid chance at covering the spread. Charlotte will be without both LaMelo Ball and Gordon Hayward, but with the news that Giannis will be sidelined, the Hornets should have a decent enough showing to make this a close game. Charlotte has gone 28-21-1 against the spread this season while the Bucks are 22-29, with a rough 13-12 ATS record at home. The Hornets will look to players like Devonte’ Graham and Terry Rozier, who both have scored points in the double digits in nine of their last 10 games, to pick up the slack.
The Bucks will see Bobby Portis continue to get more playing time with Giannis out. Portis has scored double digits in his last three games, but it just doesn’t quite bridge the gap between his scoring output and that of Giannis, who’s been averaging 28.8 points per game this season and and just had a pair of double-doubles before he went out with injury.
