Best NBA team stacks for DFS on Thursday, April 8th

We go over some of the best NBA teams to stack for DFS on DraftKings for Thursday’s main slate.

Should you roster Khris Middleton or Richaun Holmes?

We have a seven-game schedule in the NBA on Thursday, which means there are endless opportunities for your prospective lineup in DFS. The first game tips off at 7:30 p.m. ET with the Los Angeles Lakers taking on the Miami Heat on TNT. Lastly, there will be three games at 10:00 p.m. ET, which will not be lacking in the scoring department.

Sometimes with a plus-matchup on the NBA game slate, we get an opportunity to slot multiple players from the same team into our DFS lineups. You can read more about the concept of stacking here, but the main goal is to take advantage of this plus-matchup and use the salary cap to your advantage.

Here, we’ll break down three of the best team stacks for the NBA slate on April 8th.

Mavericks vs. Bucks, 9:00 p.m. ET

Jrue Holiday ($8,100)
Khris Middleton ($7,800)
Donte DiVincenzo ($5,700)
Bobby Portis ($5,300)
Brook Lopez ($5,000)

This might be one of the more expensive team stacks in DFS on Thursday night, but it could be the most profitable. If you go with this stack, you will still have about $18,100 to play with to fill the last three roster spots. The Milwaukee Bucks might be without Giannis Antetokounmpo, who is dealing with a knee injury and is doubtful to play against the Dallas Mavericks. The point total is currently set at 232 points, according to DraftKings Sportsbook. In the Bucks’ last two games without Antetokounmpo, they averaged 125.5 points. Holiday and Middleton will shoulder a majority of the offensive workload, with the three other players playing a considerable amount of minutes.

Trail Blazers vs. Jazz, 10:00 p.m. ET

Damian Lillard ($9,500)
CJ McCollum ($7,800)
Enes Kanter ($6,100)
Robert Covington ($5,900)
Carmelo Anthony ($4,400)

The Portland Trail Blazers get to face a Utah Jazz team that just played a hard-fought game on Wednesday night against the Phoenix Suns. The Blazers are one of the best offensive teams in the Western Conference with their dynamic trio of Lillard, McCollum, and Norman Powell. The former Raptors wing is dealing with a toe injury and is currently listed as questionable.

If Powell plays, that’s great news for Portland and the point total, which is currently at 232.5. But if Powell does not play, then it could open up more scoring opportunities for Covington and Anthony. In their last five games, Covington is averaging 32.8 fantasy points, while Anthony is putting up 16.5 fantasy points per game.

Pistons vs. Kings, 10:00 p.m. ET

Mason Plumlee ($5,900)
Hamidou Diallo ($5,100)
Saddiq Bey ($4,300)
Isaiah Stewart ($4,100)
Cory Joseph ($3,500)

With Jerami Grant out for Thursday night’s game with knee soreness, Detroit’s front court will have to make up for that production. This means you should have Plumlee and Bey both in your stack. Plumlee is averaging 10.3 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 30.2 fantasy points per game this season. He’ll likely be matched up against Kings C Richaun Holmes, who has been a fun value play in DFS this season. There will likely be not a lot of defense in this game as the point total is set at 225. The Pistons’ guards (Saben Lee, Joseph and Diallo) will have a challenge on their hands with De’Aaron Fox and Tyrese Haliburton. Diallo has been a solid add for the Pistons, scoring at least 10 or more points in four of the last five games.
