Moneyline pick, best player prop for Orioles vs. Yankees on Wednesday

The Bronx Bombers are back! The New York Yankees picked up a convincing 7-2 win in Tuesday’s matchup with the Baltimore Orioles. The Yanks will look to go for the sweep on Wednesday evening at the Stadium. On Tuesday, Gerrit Cole dominated the O’s bats over 7.0 IP, striking out 13 batters while surrendering just 4 hits. Jameson Taillon will make his return to the mound in his Yankees’ debut on Wednesday. Taillon hasn’t pitched in a regular season game since 2019 with the Pittsburgh Pirates. We’ll see what kind of pitch count he’ll be on. Let’s take a look at the lines on DKSB.

Orioles vs. Yankees, 6:35 p.m. ET

Moneyline pick: Yankees -210

This is a tough pick. Part of me thinks that the O’s will have a shot with John Means on the hill. The former Mountaineer great one-hit the Boston Red Sox in the season opener with 5 Ks over 7.0 IP. The Red Sox lineup isn’t the Yankees lineup, however. Last season in limited work, Means allowed 6 ER over 8.1 IP against the Yanks. In 2019, those splits were even worse. So despite Taillon pitching for the first time in forever, I’ll back the Yankees bats in this one.

Prop: Orioles to lead after 3 Innings (+210)

This is a risky prop but hear me out. Means looked good in the opener and could come out and shut down the Yankees bats early on. If Taillon takes a bit to get back in the grove, the Orioles bats could get to him early. If that’s the case, Baltimore could be leading after 3 innings and even the first 5 innings. Both lines offer us a bit more juice than the Yankees ML. Chances are the Yankees bats thrive Wednesday night. If they don’t, this isn’t a bad hedge.

Player Prop: Gleyber Torres to hit HR (+435)

So we all know the history of Torres vs. the Orioles. This is the final game of this series with the Yanks going for the sweep. With Judge out of the lineup to rest, Torres is jumping up to the 2-hole, so he should get another AB. With how Giancarlo Stanton is hitting, the O’s can’t really pitch around Torres and Aaron Hicks. Torres has 16 HRs and a 1.220 OPS in 39 games against Baltimore in his career.
