Pick against the spread, best player prop for Jazz vs. Suns on Wednesday

We go over some of the best betting options for Wednesday’s matchup between the Utah Jazz and Phoenix Suns.

Why Trae Young is a must in your DFS Lineups

The two hottest teams in the NBA will go head-to-head tonight as the Utah Jazz (38-12) head to Phoenix to take on the Suns (35-14). Both sides have gone 9-1 in their last 10 outings while the Jazz just had their nine-game winning streak snapped by the Dallas Mavericks earlier this week with a 103-111 loss. The Suns are riding a six-game winning streak after edging out the Houston Rockets 133-130 earlier this week. Now the two teams will turn their focus toward each other as Phoenix hopes to gain some ground on the league leaders.

Jazz vs. Suns, 10:00 p.m. ET, ESPN

Pick ATS: Jazz -1.5

It’s tough to say which Utah team we’ll see on the court in Phoenix tonight. Will Donovan Mitchell drop over 30 points as he’s been known to do regularly? Will Jordan Clarkson and Mike Conley prove unstoppable from downtown? Will Rudy Gobert dominate the boards on both ends of the court? Usually when any combination of those scenarios happen, the Jazz are hands down the better team. Sometimes, though, they’ll come out and fall flat in almost every possible way. Mitchell scored just 16 against the Mavericks the other night, while Clarkson went 2-for-9 and Joe Ingles only dropped 1-for-2 from beyond the arc. They have a knack for bouncing back after a loss, though, and they’ve done fairly well on the road this season (16-10 overall) while covering the spread 13 times throughout those games.

While the Suns have some great offensive options in guys like Devin Booker and Chris Paul, they gave up 17 three-pointers in their last game against the Rockets while letting them go 54% from the field which would be devastating for Phoenix if they give up those kind of numbers against the Jazz. Obviously it’s set to be a close one, but I’d go with the Jazz covering the spread on this one with major implications on the line.

Player Prop: Mike Conley O16.5 points (+100)

More often than not, Conley is a major contributor for Utah, and can pick up the slack fairly regularly when other players find themselves struggling. Finding him scoring over 16 points in any given game is a relatively easy task, as he’s only failed to score less than 18 twice in his last five games. He shot 61.5% from the field against the Mavericks while going 6-for-10 in three-pointers. If he takes that same energy and brings it to Phoenix, he should have no trouble with this one.
