Moneyline pick, best player prop for Giants vs. Padres on Tuesday

We go over some of the best betting options for Tuesday’s matchup between the San Francisco Giants and San Diego Padres.

The San Diego Padres may have experienced a crushing loss in Monday’s game vs. the San Francisco Giants. Padres SS Fernando Tatis Jr. suffered a subluxation of his left shoulder, a partial dislocation, and was forced to leave the game. We’re still awaiting an update from the Pads on his status. There’s no way Tatis will be in the lineup for Tuesday’s Game 2 vs. San Fran. Let’s take a look at the lines and see if there are any props that stick out.

Giants vs. Padres, 10:10 p.m. ET

Moneyline pick: Padres -200

San Diego may be down Tatis and coming off a loss Monday night. I don’t think that impacts things much heading into this game. The Padres still have a better lineup with rookie Jake Cronenworth, Manny Machado, Eric Hosmer, Tommy Pham and Wil Myers. Yu Darvish will look to shake off a poor outing in his Padres debut last week, when he allowed 4 ER on 8 hits (2 HRs) over 4.2 IP against the D-Backs. Opposite Darvish on the hill for the Giants is Aaron Sanchez, who hasn’t pitched since 2019. It’s been a while since Sanchez was an All-Star back in 2016 with the Jays. This Pads lineup should mash Sanchez. I’ll take San Diego in a slugfest.

Game Prop: First 3 Innings Total Runs O2.5 (-103)

There’s a good chance we see both lineups blow up both starters in this matchup. Darvish can’t keep the ball in the park and isn’t nearly the pitcher he once was — same can be said about Sanchez. So even in a “pitcher’s ballpark” at Petco, there should be runs scored. Last night we came 1 run away from reaching this number after 3 innings. I think the bats get it going on both sides and the over/under is at 8 runs and could move up throughout the day.
