The New York Mets will finally get their season started today against NL East rival the Philadelphia Phillies after a COVID-19 outbreak in their first opponent forced the series to be pushed back.

The Mets finally get their season going today after a COVID outbreak on the Washington Nationals forced them to postpone their opening series. Obviously, there will be some anxiousness for New York that Philly won’t feel, but they’ll also be tossing their real Opening Day starter, Jacob DeGrom, on the bump.

The Phillies will be throwing out Matt Moore, a solid back-end of the rotation guy with a career 4.51 ERA. The new-look Mets with Francisco Lindor will be fortunate to have a soft landing to open the season against Moore instead of Philidelphia’s ace Aaron Nola.
