The Jacksonville Jaguars kicked off 2020 with an upset win over the Indianapolis Colts but didn't win another game for the rest of the year. They finished with the NFL’s worst record and will essentially need to start from ground zero. Luckily for Jacksonville, it’ll get a chance to draft a generational talent capable of guiding the franchise into a new era.
The Jaguars were abysmal on defense and ranked in the bottom six against the run and pass. Only the Detroit Lions gave up more points. Jacksonville’s offense was equally bad ad ranked 28th in total yards. Its quarterback carousel had a lot to do with that, though. Consistency under center could be on the way soon.

Team needs
Offense: Quarterback, Offensive line
Three different quarterbacks played in at least three games for Jacksonville last season, and they were all below average. Poor protection was a factor though, as the Jaguars gave up the fourth-most sacks in the league. Plugging in a better signal-caller won’t do the job in this situation. The next man up will need talent around him to make big plays.
Defense: Cornerback, Defensive line
The Jaguars’ secondary has struggled tremendously since Jalen Ramsey was moved to the Los Angeles Rams. Jacksonville gave up the sixth-most passing yards and third-most passing touchdowns last season. The Jaguars also gave up the third-most rushing yards and rushing scores in the NFL last season. They won’t become a quality defense in one season, but shoring up its pass and run defense will give it a chance to win more games.
Dream first pick
Trevor Lawrence-QB, Clemson
Lawrence is the clear-cut top prospect in the draft class, and Jacksonville’s biggest need is under center. The Jaguars have versatile weapons on offense in James Robinson, DJ Chark Jr., and Laviska Shenault. Getting a player who’s capable of maximizing their talents will be essential to Jacksonville’s rebuild.
