The Los Angeles Angels have won two of the first three games of their series with the Chicago White Sox ahead of Sunday’s game. Chicago is looking to establish itself as a legitimate World Series contender early in the season, but holding off a Los Angeles team led by American League MVP frontrunner Mike Trout won’t be easy. We took a look at the odds on DraftKings Sportsbook ahead of the first pitch to determine the best betting options.
Chicago White Sox vs. Los Angeles Angels, 8:37 p.m. ET
Moneyline pick: White Sox (+104)
Chicago did a great job closing out four-game series with wins last year and know what they can expect from their pitcher, Dylan Cease. While the 25-year-old struggled with walking batters at a high rate last year, he struck batters out at a high rate during spring training and boasted a 1.06 ERA. While that might not carry over into regular-season baseball, the Angels’ Shohei Ohtani might be on a short leash. The 26-year-old’s career has been riddled with injuries and there’s no telling how far he’ll make it before being pulled. He made ten starts in 2018, did not pitch in 2019 due to Tommy John surgery, and was limited to two starts in 2020 due to forearm issues.
Player Prop: Tim Anderson O1.5 hits (+175)
Anderson Chicago’s leadoff batter and has already racked up 14 plate appearances. He’s only batting .214 but has recorded a hit in every game so far. One of MLB’s most prolific bats is bound to have a multi-hit game sooner or later, so there’s not a ton of risk associated with this prop.
