Fantasy impact of Bears 2021 NFL Draft selections

The Chicago Bears have done themselves no favors in crafting their roster over the last few years and that leaves them with plenty of holes to fill. The biggest hole was filled like a shallow grave with Andy Dalton, but nobody is going to hold the Bears to Dalton starting 16 games in 2021. That means they are firmly in play to draft a quarterback. Unfortunately, they have the 20th overall pick, which will not give them one of the top quarterbacks.

There is a chance they could trade up to grab a quarterback, and that is the dream of most Bears fans. The Falcons at pick No. 4 are the golden goose of trade partners and will likely cost a similar ransom. Making that happen will be a minor miracle, but it is in the cards. But there are plenty of other spots they need help, including wide receiver, offensive line, and cornerback.

For fantasy football, the Bears are likely going to be behind the eight-ball no matter if they have Dalton or a rookie behind center, but for Allen Robinson and David Montgomery, beefing up the o-line should help with some offensive stability. If they end up with a rookie at the helm for part of the season, inconsistency will likely be the norm.

Fantasy football impact

Bears fans won’t have to live through 17 games of Andy Dalton! Fields might not take the league by storm, but he’s an upgrade over Dalton already. His legs will keep the offense alive and Allen Robinson finally gets a quarterback with a high ceiling. Who knows how long the growing pains will last, but this is a positive for the Bears fantasy players.
