Best bets for WR to be drafted first: Rashod Bateman or Kadarius Toney

We break down our vote for best bet for which WR will be drafted first in the 2021 NFL Draft: Rashod Bateman and Kadarius Toney.

The Ross Tucker Football Podcast: 2021 Top Rookie Wide Receivers

DraftKings Sportsbook is offering odds for specific matchups on who will be selected first in the 2021 NFL Draft, and it pinned former Minnesota Golden Gophers wide receiver Rashod Bateman and former Florida Gators wideout Kadarius Toney against each other. These are two different wide receiver types as Bateman is projected to be more of an outside receiver, while Toney’s quick cutting ability makes him more of a slot receiver at the next level.

Player Odds

Rashod Bateman -167
Kadarius Toney +133

Best bets

The odds are not great to gain a ton of value, but the best bet is going with Bateman, who proved much more over his college career than Toney. Bateman put together consistent years of quality production in his three seasons in college. Toney did not break through until his fourth season in 2020 when he had a fantastic year in a high-scoring Florida offense. Toney could very well end up being the better pro, but teams will value Bateman’s multiple years of consistency over one season of playing at a high level.
