The San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Dodgers are coming off one of the most entertaining series you’ll find in April of a long MLB season. Last weekend, the two organizations set the tone, which should make for a fun watch the rest of the season when the two teams get together. Their second series started on Thursday with Game 2 on Friday, April 23rd with the Dodgers as slight favorites at home.
The Dodgers still have the best record in the league at 14-5 and will turn to Clayton Kershaw, who is off to another fantastic start. In four starts, he is 3-1 with a 2.19 ERA, and threw six scoreless innings against the Padres last weekend. San Diego will have Yu Darvish on the mound with a 1-1 record and 2.55 ERA. Last weekend, he allowed just one run in seven innings in a loss to the Dodgers.
Padres vs. Dodgers, 10:10 p.m. ET
Moneyline pick: Padres +128
The season series could’ve gone either way in all four games so far between these teams, so the underdog is going to have some value in this spot. Kershaw is a proven stud, but Darvish is also off to a hot start to his season. The Padres are coming off getting swept in three games by the Milwaukee Brewers, but they won the first game of this series and should be focused and take the lead in the season series with Cody Bellinger still out of the lineup for the Dodgers.
