The Oakland Athletics beat the Minnesota Twins Wednesday afternoon in a wild game that saw the A’s score three runs in the bottom of the tenth without recording a single hit to complete a comeback and win 13-12. The A’s trailed 10-7 in the sixth and tied it in the bottom of the ninth. They then trailed 12-10 before two walks and two errors plated three runs to extend the A’s win streak to 11 games.
The A’s streak is the longest in the major leagues since Oakland won 11 in row from May 16-27 in 2019. The team improved to 12-7 with the win and now holds a half game lead in the AL West over the Seattle Mariners. The A’s opened the season 0-6, and this current run is unprecedented in MLB history. Oakland became the first team to open a season 0-6 and then win 11 straight at any point later that season.
