The Philadelphia Phillies’ bullpen had been outstanding for the first few weeks of the season, but the San Francisco Giants bashed it on Tuesday night in a come-from-behind 10-7 victory. Most of the damage came in the eighth inning when Alex Dickerson and Wilmer Flores each hit a three-run home run, crushing fastballs from right-hander Connor Brogdon. There were eight homers hit in the game, with two coming from Giants catcher Buster Posey. The Giants have won seven of their last 10 games while the Phillies have lost seven of ten.
Giants vs. Phillies, 1:05 p.m. ET
Moneyline pick: Phillies (-127)
Quietly, Zach Eflin has been fantastic for the Phillies. He’s made it through six innings in each of his first three starts and possesses a 3.15 earned run average with a 16:2 strikeout-to-walk ratio. He has dominated with his sinker, off of which hitters have compiled just a .143 batting average and no extra-base hits in 35 at-bats. He should lead the way in a Phillies win.
Player Prop: Zach Eflin O4.5 strikeouts (-143)
Eflin has struck out at least six batters in two of his three starts, and the Giants’ 159 Ks ranks as the 11th-most in MLB. While Eflin doesn’t bring overpowering stuff, he definitely misses enough bats (11.1% swinging-strike rate) to clear this low line.
