The defending World Series champion, Los Angeles Dodgers will be looking to get into the win column when they play the Colorado Rockies at 8:40 p.m. ET on Friday night. This is the second game of four-game Opening Weekend series. The Rockies surprisingly defeated the Dodgers 8-5 on Opening Day at Coors Field. Rockies second baseman Chris Owings led the way with a perfect 3-3 and 1 RBI. Trevor Story and Charlie Blackmon went 2-8 with one run scored and a walk. As for the Dodgers, Cody Bellinger had two hits, an RBI, and a walk. He should’ve had a home run earlier in the game, but it was negated due to a base running error.
On Friday night, 2020 NL Cy Young winner Trevor Bauer will be making his regular-season debut for the Dodgers, while Colorado will have Antonio Senzatela on the mound. We’ll go over some ideal picks on DraftKings Sportsbook centered around the game here.
Dodgers vs. Rockies, 8:40 p.m. ET
Moneyline pick: Dodgers -250
The spread for Friday night’s contest is set at -1.5 runs, with the Dodgers favored at Coors Field. Los Angeles is also the favorite on the moneyline at -250. It’s hard to believe that the Dodgers could start the season 0-2, especially with the firepower they have on offense and their amazing starting rotation.
On Thursday afternoon, the Dodgers had five runs on 15 hits, but left 14 runners on bases, which is not a recipe for success. Meanwhile, the Rockies did what they had to do to win as they jumped on Clayton Kershaw earlier. However, things do not get easier for the Rox with Bauer on the mound Friday night. Over his career, Bauer has a 3.86 ERA with 20 strikeouts in 16.1 innings pitched against the Rox. This could also be a big night for Mookie Betts, who went 2-for-6 on Opening Day.
Player Prop: Mookie Betts to hit a home run (+275)
The Dodgers almost had a home run on Opening Day from Cody Bellinger, but thanks to a base running error with Justin Turner, Los Angeles did went homerless. Mookie Betts should be able to change on Friday night.
In six career plate appearances against Rockies starter Antonio Senzatela, Betts is 3-for-6 with a home run and an RBI. Last season against Colorado, the former AL MVP slashed .387/.441/.839 with four home runs and 10 RBI. If you have some small change to spend, why not use it on Betts?
