In the first game of the doubleheader, Steven Matz will be on the mound for the Blue Jays, while the Royals will run out Mike Minor. Blue Jays vs. Royals, 2:10 p.m. ET

Moneyline pick: Blue Jays -115

The run line for Saturday afternoon’s contest is set at -1.5, with the Blue Jays favored on the road (+145). Toronto is also favored on the moneyline at -115. The Royals took Game 1 of this four-game series on Thursday with a 7-5 victory. In that game, the Blue Jays started Anthony Kay, who allowed six hits, four earned runs, and struck out three in 3.1 IP. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. continued his hot start, going 3-for-5 with a monstrous solo home run. Guerrero is now hitting .413 with three home runs and 10 RBI. The Royals received a good start from Jakob Junis, who only allowed five hits, two earned runs, and struck out six in 5.0 IP. Kansas City’s offense scored seven runs in the first four innings, which was just enough to hang on.

Over the course of their three-game winning streak, Kansas City is averaging 5.3 runs per game. However, the Blue Jays should be able to come away with the win as they have Matz on the mound. The former New York Mets pitcher has gotten off to a tremendous start, with a record of 2-0, 1.46 ERA, and notching 13 strikeouts in 12.1 IP. Mike Minor isn’t a slouch for the Royals as he has a record of 1-0 with 4.50 ERA. The veteran pitcher has a record of 4-0 and 2.00 ERA in seven starts against the Blue Jays. But we’ll give the edge to Matz in this matchup.
