Best MLB team stacks for DFS on Friday, April 16th

We have a full 15-game schedule in MLB Friday, which means there are endless opportunities for your prospective lineup in DFS. The main slate features 14 games starting at 7:05 p.m. ET. The lone early game is at 2:20 p.m. ET between the Atlanta Braves and Chicago Cubs.

Here, we’ll break down three of the best team stacks for the MLB slate on Friday, April 16th.

Phillies vs. Cardinals, 7:05 p.m. ET

The Phillies are looking to rebound from a horrible three-game series against the Mets, when their offense went dead silent. Philadelphia averaged only 1.33 runs per game, after their bats kind of woke up against the Braves last weekend.

The Phils should be able to put up some hits and runs on Cardinals starting pitcher Carlos Martinez. He has struggled this season, allowing 12 hits in 10.0 IP with only five strikeouts and an ERA of 6.30. The right-handed pitcher has an ERA of 7.20 away from Busch Stadium and has struggled against right-handed batters (.300/.364/.700 with two home runs).

Orioles vs. Rangers, 8:05 p.m. ET

This might be one of the more lesser appealing stacks for MLB DFS Friday night. But for an inconsistent offense such the Texas Rangers, this could be a great matchup for them. The total runs scored for Friday night’s game is set at nine, according to DraftKings Sportsbook.

Texas is coming off an impressive three-game sweep over the Tampa Bay Rays, when they averaged 6.3 runs per game. The Rangers will now turn their attention to Baltimore starting pitcher Jorge Lopez, who has a record of 0-2 and skyrocketing ERA of 11.42. Thus far, both right- and left-handed batters are hitting over .300, which is good news for someone like Joey Gallo, who has recorded a hit in three straight games. This is a must-see TV game, but one where we could a lot offense from Texas.

Twins vs. Angels, 9:38 p.m. ET

The Angels are coming into Friday’s game on a two-game losing streak and with multiple players on the 10-day IL. But that should not sway you from potentially stacking them as they are facing Lewis Thorpe of the Minnesota Twins. The 26-year-old was mostly used in relief duty last season for Minnesota.

Meanwhile, LAA has two of the best offensive players in the league hitting over .300 in Ohtani and Trout. In the Angels’ last seven games, Ohtani had two or more hits four times. Trout is one of the highest priced outfielders, which makes sense, given that he has had multiple double-digit games this season.
