The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Colorado Rockies 4-2 on Wednesday, extending their win streak to five games. Dodgers starter Dustin May allowed seven hits, two earned runs, one walk, while striking out six in 4.1 IP. Third baseman Justin Turner and utility player Zach McKinstry both went 2-for-4 and hit a home run.
McKinstry’s home run came in the eighth inning, which gave the Dodgers an insurance run heading into the ninth. As for the Rockies, outfielder Raimel Tapia and first baseman C.J. Cron both recorded two hits a piece. The two teams will play each other on Thursday night at 10:10 p.m. ET. Austin Gomber will be on the mound for the Rockies, and he’ll be opposed by Julio Urias for the Dodgers. We’ll go over some ideal picks on DraftKings Sportsbook centered around the game here.
Rockies vs. Dodgers, 10:10 p.m. ET
Moneyline pick: Dodgers -278
The run line for Thursday night’s contest is set at -1.5 runs, with the Dodgers favored at home (-115). They are also favored on the moneyline at -278. The Dodgers have won five-straight games and try to get the series sweep tonight. Los Angeles has outscored their opponents by an average of 3.4 runs per game and they are scoring 4.8 runs per game.
The Dodgers are doing this without the likes of outfielder Cody Bellinger, who is still on the 10-day IL. Without Bellinger, Turner has stepped up in his place. In the last five games, the veteran third baseman is slashing .421/.476/.895 with two home runs and five RBI. The Dodgers should be able to continue their to score runs against Gomber, who has a record of 0-2, but a surprising ERA of 2.89. However, the 27-year-old has struggled over his career against Los Angeles (0-2, 8.18 ERA).
Player Prop: Corey Seager to record over 1.5 hits (+168)
With the way Turner has been swinging the bat recently, he would’ve been a no-brainer for a player prop. However, Seager plays an instrumental role in the Dodgers’ offense as well, just by getting on base. This season, the 26-year-old shortstop is slugging .356/.463/.556 with a home run and eight RBI. Out of 11 games played, Seager has record more than 1.5 hits five times. And within those five games, he has gone over his prop total in four games against the Rockies.
