The Miami Marlins and Atlanta Braves get us going on Thursday afternoon MLB slate, which includes 12 games and one day-night doubleheader. The Marlins are going for the four-game sweep of the Braves on the road after a close 6-5 win on Wednesday. Jesus Aguilar was the hero last night with an RBI double in the 10th inning to give Miami the win. With a win, the Marlins can get to .500 baseball on the short season. Let’s take a look at the odds and lines on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Marlins vs. Braves, 12:20 p.m. ET
Moneyline pick: Marlins +150
I’m riding the Marlins with the clean sweep of the Braves before the weekend gets going. The pitching matchup appears to be heavily in the Marlins favor with Trevor Rogers going up against rookie Ian Anderson, who struggled a bit his last outing. Rogers was lights out with some impressive stuff, striking out 10 over 6 scoreless. The lefty has one of those arm angles that’s difficult to pick up. The Braves offense has been lackluster and the Marlins has been surprisingly good.
Player Prop: Trevor Rogers O6.5 Strikeouts (+106)
We’re still getting plus-money on Rogers’ strikeout prop, which should go up a bit before this game gets going this afternoon. The Braves have been striking out a decent amount, ranking tied for 13th in the MLB in 2021. Rogers has a pretty small sample size in his MLB career but that includes a 13 K/9 with 55 Ks over 38 IP. I’ll be willing to ride this prop until the books get it right.
