We’ve got six games on the schedule for Tuesday, April 13th, and there are plenty of big names on the injury report. Here we’ll be monitoring all the latest injury news with some analysis and how to approach the injury for DFS and fantasy basketball.
NBA Injury Report: Tuesday, April 13th
Utah Jazz injury report
The Jazz have ruled out Jordan Clarkson and Udoka Azubuike because of ankle injuries, while Joe Ingles and Royce O’Neale have been sidelined by a knee injury. One key player is set to return to the court against the Oklahoma city Thunder. Mike Conley ($6,900) is expected to play after sitting against the Washington Wizards to rest a hamstring injury.
Donovan Mitchell ($9,400) is sure to be a major contributor having scored at least 37 points and 50 DKFP in four straight contests. He’s taken at least 25 shots in each game during that span, so don’t expect him to slow down now. Bojan Bogdanovic ($5,200) could also have to help Utah pick up the slack on offense.
Los Angeles Lakers injury report
Update: Morris is a game-time decision. Kuzma, Gasol, Drummond and Matthews are all available to play.
Update: Markieff Morris (ankle) is now being listed as questionable to play. So Morris, Drummond and Gasol could be held out. Harrell becomes an even more appealing option and THT is more viable if Morris sits.
The Lakers have five names on the report this afternoon. Marc Gasol (hamstring) and Andre Drummond (elbow) are both questionable to play vs. the Hornets. Dennis Schroder, Kyle Kuzma and Wesley Matthews are all probable to play.
So assuming Kuz, Matthews and Schroder are fine, we have to focus a bit on the front court here. If both Drumm and Gasol are out, Montrezl Harrell ($5,500) and Markieff Morris ($5,000) will play quite a bit at center. Talen Horton-Tucker ($5,300) also wouldn’t be a bad play, though his value is boosted more with Kuzma off the floor. There are also a ton of $5K options if you look at the other injury reports below.
Charlotte Hornets injury report
Update: Rozier has been ruled out vs. the Lakers. Cody Martin or Caleb Martin will start for Rozier. Bismack Biyombo or Cody Zeller will start for Washington.
The Hornets have ruled out PF PJ Washington (ankle) and PG/SG Terry Rozier (knee) is doubtful to play against the Los Angeles Lakers. Gordon Hayward, LaMelo Ball and Malik Monk are also out for Charlotte. Washington was injured over the weekend.
With Washington and likely Rozier out, we get a ton of value on Charlotte. Jalen McDaniels ($4,300), Cody Zeller ($4,800) and Miles Bridges ($5,800) are all strong plays with Washington sidelined. Devonte’ Graham ($6,300) will have to play a ton of minutes in the back court. Same with Brad Wanamaker ($3,800), who is a good value. Those five should be the starting lineup. The other player I’d look at is Caleb Martin ($3,100), who is more of a punt play for GPPs.
Kawhi Leonard, SF, Los Angeles Clippers
The Clippers have already ruled out Leonard (foot) for Tuesday’s game vs. the Indiana Pacers. The Clippers also will be without C Serge Ibaka (back) and PG Patrick Beverley (hand). Rajon Rondo (groin) is also a question mark.
So that’s a lot of names on the Clips injury report. Paul George ($8,700) will be an OK GPP play given it’s a revenge spot against a former team. Reggie Jackson ($5,400) should play a ton of minutes at guard. He’s averaging 28.9 DKFP over his past 5 outings. Ivica Zubac ($5,200) and Marcus Morris ($5,000) are also strong plays for cash games.
Toronto Raptors injury report
The Raptors have already ruled out PG Kyle Lowry (rest) and Fred VanVleet (hip) could also be held out vs the Atlanta Hawks. Pascal Siakam and OG Anunoby (rest) should return after resting on Sunday. If Lowry and FVV are both out, Malachi Flynn ($5,400) will be the chalkiest of chalks on the short slate. He’s averaging 33.7 DKFP and 34 minutes over his past 5 games. Gary Trent Jr. ($6,000) is also a strong play if FVV is out. With Siakam and OG back, Chris Boucher ($6,900) is a bit overpriced.
Trae Young, PG, Atlanta Hawks
Update: Young has been ruled out vs. the Raptors.
Update: Young is a game-time decision and Gallo has been ruled out. Solomon Hill ($4,000) isn’t a bad option with Gallo sidelined again.
The Hawks were without Young (calf) and Danilo Gallinari (foot) over the weekend. We don’t know their status for the game Tuesday vs. the Raptors. If Young and Gallo are both out, the Hawks will have a nice amount of value. Bogdan Bogdanovic ($6,800) started the month at $5,400 and is up $1,400. He’d be the go-to scorer with Young and Gallo sidelined, as well as John Colins and De’Andre Hunter — oh, and Tony Snell and Cam Reddish. Anyway, Clint Capela ($8,500) will be a good tourney option against a Toronto team that doesn’t defend well down low. Kevin Huerter ($5,300) would be another $5K option to consider.
Brooklyn Nets vs. Minnesota Timberwolves report
So this game was supposed to be played Monday and was moved to Tuesday due to a postponement. Not much has changed on the injury report. The Nets will be without PG Kyrie Irving (personal) and PF/C LaMarcus Aldridge (illness). The T-Wolves won’t have Karl-Anthony Towns (personal). The thing is, this game isn’t on the main slate on DraftKings, so there’s a Showdown contest to go over.
It feels like we should go with value at Captain unless we opt for Anthony Edwards ($13,500). Bruce Brown, Chris Chiozza and Jeff Green are all in the $8-9K range for the Nets and should play a decent amount in a good matchup. Kevin Durant ($15,600) is the only superstar left over, but should be on a minutes limit still. Naz Reid ($5,400) isn’t a bad value captain with KAT ruled out.
