Players to consider fading in NBA DFS for Thursday, April 1st

As with every NBA game slate, there are always pricey players that you’ll want to be wary of.

In NBA DFS, there will always be some flashy names that may tempt you to pay up — even in an unfavorable matchup. Name value sometimes comes with reliability, but the trick to cashing in on your NBA lineups is to maximize the boom while operating under the salary cap. Sometimes, this means fading the chalk plays and spending elsewhere.

Here, we’ll break down three top NBA DFS fades for the game slate on Thursday, April 1st.

Victor Oladipo, Miami Heat ($7,500)

Oladipo is scheduled to make his Miami Heat debut on Thursday after being traded by the Houston Rockets last week at the NBA trade deadline. The last time we saw Oladipo on the floor, he had 45.3 DKFP (23 points, 6 assists, and 5 assists) against the Detroit Pistons Mar. 21.

Its going to be interesting to see how he gels with his new squad against a Warriors team ranked 10th versus PG/SGs (OPRK). There might be some temptation to play him, but you can find cheaper options at either guard spot such as Collin Sexton, Dejounte Murray, Devonte’ Graham, and Darius Garland.

Aaron Gordon, Denver Nuggets ($6,200)

Since arriving to the Mile High City, Aaron Gordon has only managed to score 19.5 and 13.5 fantasy points in two games. The veteran forward is still figuring out his role with Denver, but it won’t get easy for him on Thursday night. The Nuggets are playing the Clippers, who will be looking to neutralize Nikola Jokic and Michael Porter Jr. in the front court. If they are able to do this, it should open up opportunities for Gordon. But Los Angeles is ranked 1st against SF/PFs (OPRK) this season.

Chuma Okeke, Orlando Magic ($5,700)

The former first round pick out of Auburn has been the Magic’s best offensive player since the team traded both Nikola Vucevic and Evan Fournier last week. In the Magic’s last four games, he’s averaging 17.7 points on 63.2% shooting from the field and 30.8 fantasy points. On Thursday night, the Magic will be playing the New Orleans Pelicans, which has a stout front court featuring Steven Adams and Zion Williamson.

Both players could cause issues for Okeke on both ends of the floor as the Pelicans rank third against PF/Cs (OPRK).
