Kansas will be without one of their key contributors during the upcoming Big 12 Tournament, as junior forward David McCormack has been ruled out of competing in Kansas City due to COVID-19 protocols according to team officials.

McCormack is the fourth-largest contributor in the Big 12 by KenPom, averaging 13.4 points and 6.1 rebounds per game for the Jayhawks. The Big 12’s Most Improved Player this season started all 27 games this year.
Sophomore guard Tristan Enaruna will also be unavailable, averaging 2.8 points and 1.6 rebounds in limited minutes.
The odds for Kansas to win the Big 12 Tournament were at +335 this morning, but have shifted to +375 since this announcement at DraftKings Sportsbook. Favorite Baylor has dropped from -134 to -137 in the interim. McCormack had 20 points in 25 minutes in KU’s conference season-ending win over No. 2 Baylor on February 27th, and was 8-10 from the floor and 4-4 from the free throw line. Losing him for the tournament puts a huge damper on the Jayhawks pursuit of a league title and a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
