The Big East isn’t as threatening as it usually is this year, and its conference tournament is set to begin on Wednesday. While there might not be a legitimate championship contender in the Big East in 2021, several teams could make a run in the NCAA Tournament. Let’s go over the odds for the top candidates to win the Big East Tournament.
No. 14 Villanova (+350) won the Big East regular-season title, but has the third-best conference tournament odds as the Wildcats’ star guard Collin Gillespie tore his MCL against No. 17 Creighton (+250) on March 3 and is out for the year.
Instead, UConn (+210) has taken over as the odds-on favorite. The Huskies finished third in the Big East, but have won six of their last seven to play themselves into an at-large spot in the NCAA Tournament.
Xavier (+470) and St. John’s (+2000) round out the top five. The Red Storm could be the best long shot bet in the field, as they’ve beaten three of the four teams with better odds so far this season. Seton Hall has been left out of the odds, as betting on the Pirates in New Jersey is prohibited.
Here are the odds of all the teams in the field.
