The Big Ten regular season will draw to a close on Saturday when the No. 25 Wisconsin Badgers will face the No. 5 Iowa Hawkeyes at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City, IA.

Wisconsin (16-10, 10-9 B1G) will likely need to win this game to stay in the rankings having lost two straight to Illinois and Purdue, but are still a lock for the NCAA Tournament. The Badgers also lost to Iowa 77-62 at home on February 18th, and do struggle with the teams at the top of the loaded Big Ten. Senior D’Mitrik Trice is one of the most exciting guards in the league, averaging 14 points and nearly four assists per game.

Iowa (19-7, 13-6 B1G) will continue to make its case for a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament, having knocked off Ohio State on the road last Sunday 73-57. Senior center Luka Garza will win the Wooden Award as the national player of the year, and he leads an offense that is the second-most efficient in college basketball behind Gonzaga. He has some help however, as the Hawkeyes shoot 40% from three-point range as a team.

Point Spread, Totals, Odds, Trends

Point spread: Iowa -6
Point Total: 143.5
Money line: Wisconsin +215, Iowa -275

  • Wisconsin are 1-4 ATS in their last five outings, with the under hitting in six of the last eight.
  • Iowa are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games, with the under hitting in seven of the last eight.

The Best Bet

Iowa should win, they might want to blow it out on Senior Day for Garza (who could potentially return to Iowa City next season)... but this is a game where both teams can defend well enough to get in the way.

Garza should have his way with the Wisconsin post players, but there might not be a lot of threes made.

Pick: Under 143.5
