How and what to watch for No. 8 Alabama vs. Georgia

The Georiga Bulldogs will look to get one final SEC win Friday, but it will be tough against the Alabama Crimson Tide as both teams wrap up the regular season in Athens.

The Crimson Tide (20-6, 15-2 SEC) have already won the SEC regular-season title and are 2.5 games up on the second-place team. So while this game doesn't mean much for them other than prepping for the SEC Tournament, don’t expect them to mail it in. ‘Bama is averaging nearly 80 points per game this season, while only allowing 70 to their opponents each time out. KenPom has their defense ranked as the third most efficient in the nation. Scoring-wise, they’re led by Jaden Shackelford’s 15 points per game and they have three other players averaging in double figures.

The Bulldogs will just be looking to save face. When these two teams met earlier this season in Tuscaloosa, the Tide rolled over UGA winning 115-82, which is the most points has Bama scored all season. The Georgia offense is decent, scoring an average of 77.7 points per game, but they’re also giving up the exact same amount to their opponents on average. Over their last five, they’ve been allowing over 86 points per game to opponents, largely fueled by that 115 point performance against Alabama. Sahvir Wheeler leads the Dawgs with 14 points per game, and there are two other players averaging double figures.
