The 2021 NBA All-Star Game will take place on Sunday in Atlanta. We weren’t supposed to get the game or any of the events that come with it. The League decided to package it all in one and the 2021 NBA Slam Dunk Contest will take place at halftime of the All-Star Game. Luckily for us (and the All-Stars), the field isn’t exactly must-see TV. With that said, we’ve been surprised in the past. DraftKings Sportsbook has initial odds for the Slam Dunk Contest. Let’s take a look.
NBA Slam Dunk Contest Odds
Cassius Stanley +100
Anfernee Simons +225
Obi Toppin +250
So this is a pretty lackluster trio of dunk contest participants — at least from what we’ve seen in the past (most of the time). Last year we had Derrick Jones Jr. and Aaron Gordon in the final. The thing with these odds is there isn’t really much value, so again, taking Toppin with the longest odds makes the most sense to me. Don’t quote me on this at all, but my thinking is the NBA is lining up a surprise guest to be the fourth competitor in the Dunk Contest. Normally there are four players in it each year. I don’t know why they would just change that.
