The A-10 Tournament quarterfinals are here, and though the tournament will be playing out over two weeks in three venues, we take a look at the who can make a run at the trophy in a league that’s as wide open as any in the country.
We’ll be taking a look at some of the best teams in each conference, and providing picks and predictions for each conference tournament. Plenty of favorites will win, but we’ve got some sleepers to consider that might be able to pull off a big upset on the way to the NCAA Tournament.
Here’s the bracket for the Atlantic 10 Conference Tournament with TV listings, dates and times.
Favorite: St. Bonaventure
They’re the No. 1 seed, but not the favorite by the oddsmakers. The Bonnies have had some fortunate bounces and schedule luck. They split with VCU however, though the loss on the road was worse than the win was at home. But a team that’s limping home with a loss at Dayton and just an 11-4 conference mark isn’t looking great. They don’t go very deep either, but the double-bye they earned and having a week off before the final will help.
Sleeper: VCU
They might be the No. 2 seed, but the Rams are the chalk according to bettors alongside No. 4 seed Saint Louis. They’ll need Nah’Shon Hyland and his 19.2 points per game to make it happen, who is recovering from a foot sprain, but he’s one of the purest shooters in the country at 52% from the field and 38% from three-point range. The Rams have a Top-15 defense by adjusted efficiency in the country.
Dark Horse: Dayton
The Flyers finished strong, splitting with bubble team Saint Louis and beating the Bonnies to close the year. They struggle with turnovers and don’t have the defensive efficiency of most Anthony Grant-coached teams, but if they can get to the final, it’ll also be on their home court. You also want senior guards in March, and they have a pair in Jalen Crutcher and Ibi Watson.
