Mavericks vs. Celtics, 7:30 p.m. ET, ESPN
Pick ATS: Mavericks +0.5
The line for Wednesday’s primetime game is currently set 0.5 points, with the Celtics being slightly favored at home. Anytime the spread is at one point or lower, it means we are in pick’em territory.
The last time these two teams played the Mavericks only won by three points, so it doesn’t come as a surprise to see the line jumping around. Also, both teams have been inconsistent this season. The Mavericks are coming into Wednesday night’s game with a record of 13-11 on the road this season. They are also relatively healthy as they will not be missing any of their key players apart of their rotation. Doncic will be under the spotlight as he goes up against Jayson Tatum. This season, he is averaging 28.5 points, 9.0 assists, and 8.1 rebounds per game.
The Mavericks are 4-2 against the spread in their last six games and also have a record of 4-2 in their last six games against teams from the Atlantic Division. Finally, they are also 13-11 ATS on the road.
As for the Celtics, they might get back Jaylen Brown, who listed as questionable with a hip injury. Brown did not play on Monday night against the New Orleans Pelicans. This season, he is averaging 24.5 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game. However, if the Celtics do not have Brown, all is not lost, as they still have Tatum, Kemba Walker, and Evan Fournier.
Fournier made his Celtics’ debut against the Pelicans, where he had zero points on 0-of-10 shooting from the field and 0-of-5 shooting from three-point range. The Celtics are 4-2 ATS in their last six games, but has a record of 1-4 ATS in their last five games against teams from the Western Conference. The Celtics have fared well at home this season with a record of 12-9 ATS.
