MLB’s 2021 season is right around the corner and the race for this year’s American League Cy Young Award could be a close won. There are several clear-cut frontrunners who seem certain to remain contenders throughout the upcoming campaign, but sports bettors are divided when it comes to who they should back. We have the latest betting splits on DraftKings Sportsbook. Here’s who baseball fans are putting their money on.

Chicago White Sox ace Lucas Giolito (+450) has the third-best odds and leads the field with 18% of the handle and 19% of the total bets. He ranked fourth in MLB in strikeouts last year with 97 and only one AL pitcher had more. The public is expecting the 26-year-old to have his best year yet, and he’ll have to do just that to hold off the incumbent.

The Cleveland Indians’ Shane Bieber (+400) has the second-best odds in the field and won his first career Cy Young Award last season. He led MLB in ERA (1.63), wins (8), and strikeouts (122) in 2020. The 25-year-old is showing no signs of slowing down and commands 16% of the handle to go along with 9% of the total bets.

New York Yankees star Gerrit Cole (+350) is the odds-on favorite and accounts for 16% of the handle and 15% of the total bets. He’s been considered to be one of the best arms in baseball for a while but has yet to win a Cy Young Award. He didn’t put up eye-popping numbers in last year’s abbreviated season but could come into his own with more games in his second run with the Yankees.
