Best NBA team stacks for DFS on Wednesday, March 3rd

The Tuesday six-game slate was a weird one. We did well with the Memphis Grizzlies stack against the Washington Wizards. We also did not so well with the Miami Heat scoring 80 points at home against the Atlanta Hawks ... The Milwaukee Bucks were bad against the Denver Nuggets, but the run back with Nikola Jokic likely saved that stack.

Sometimes with a plus-matchup on the NBA game slate, we get an opportunity to slot multiple players from the same team into our DFS lineups. You can read more about the concept of stacking here, but the main goal is to take advantage of this plus-matchup and use the salary cap to your advantage.

Here, we’ll break down three of the best team stacks for the NBA slate on Wednesday, March 3rd.

Golden State Warriors vs. Portland Trail Blazers, 10:00 p.m. ET

Damian Lillard ($10.600)
Stephen Curry ($9,900)
Robert Covington ($6,000)
Gary Trent Jr. ($5,800)

The Dubs and Blazers sport the second highest game total at 235.5 on DraftKings Sportsbook. So we should expect a barnburner in Portland tonight. Dame and Steph are the easy picks here. Both are expensive but have high ceilings. Curry becomes a better play if Draymond Green (ankle) is sidelined. I think we can stack the Blazers if that’s the case and run it back with Curry. RoCo and Trent should get plenty of run and I don’t mind playing Carmelo Anthony ($5,400) either.

Chicago Bulls vs. New Orleans Pelicans

Zach LaVine ($9,500)
Zion Williamson ($9,100)
Coby White ($6,500)
Thaddeus Young ($6,100)
J.J. Redick ($3,100)

This is a mixed stack but the main focus is on LaVine and Zion — the two All-Stars. Williamson should have his way down low against the Bulls frontcourt, particularly if Patrick Williams is trying to guard him. LaVine has been too good to worry about Lonzo Ball and Eric Bledsoe on defense. Things didn’t go well for the Pels last time they faced LaVine, who dropped 46 points and went for 64.8 DKFP. Thad Young has been one of the most consistent fantasy options the past month with at least 31.8 DKFP in seven of eight games. Redick is underpriced and a good value play.

Charlotte Hornets vs. Minnesota Timberwolves

Karl-Anthony Towns ($10,000)
LaMelo Ball ($9,200)
Anthony Edwards ($6,900)
Malik Monk ($5,700)

You can go in a lot of directions with this stack and we need to see if the Hornets get back Gordon Hayward and/or Cody Zeller. If both remain sidelined, this is the build I would start with in Ball and KAT. Edwards has been fantastic since Malik Beasley had to serve a 12-game suspension. There’s a bit of narrative with Edwards vs. Ball — two of the top 3 picks in the 2020 NBA Draft. Monk has really revived his stock, scoring at least 19 points in five straight games. His price is at a season high but it’s still affordable. Jarred Vanderbilt ($4,700) and Cody Martin ($4,000) are the value options if you need to pay down.
