How to watch Food City Dirt Race qualifying at Bristol Motor Speedway on Sunday

We go over how you can watch qualifying for NASCAR’s Food City Dirt Race at the Bristol Motor Speedway on TV and via live stream.

The 2021 NASCAR Cup Series is underway, and the Food City Dirt Race is set to run at Bristol Motor Speedway on Sunday. This marks the first time since the Daytona 500 that qualifying will take place, which means Saturday will bring the qualifying runs. This is also the first Cup Series race on dirt since 1970.

Cup Series qualifying starts at 6 p.m. ET and will air on FSI. If you are looking to watch via live stream, checking out FOX Live or the FOX Sports GO app. If you don’t have a cable log-in for either, you can get a free trial from YouTube TV, Hulu with Live TV, AT&T TV Now, FuboTV, or Sling TV to stream qualifying.

NASCAR has been using a performance metric for determining the starting lineup of each race. For Bristol, each series will have four 15-lap qualifying races. The lineup for the races will determined by a formula that weighs finishing position plus positions gained during each heat. Each heat’s winning driver will earn 10 points, second place earns nine, third place earns eight, etc. Drivers earn one additional point for each position gained in their heat, but do not lose points for losing position in their heats. Ties in this process will be broken by current team owner points.
