The Philadelphia 76ers continue their tour of L.A. with a matchup vs. the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday night. Philly is coming off a win over the Los Angeles Lakers, who are still without LeBron James and Anthony Davis. The Clippers swept a series vs. the San Antonio Spurs and won on Thursday without Kawhi Leonard and Marcus Morris. Serge Ibaka and Patrick Beverley are still on the shelf also. Let’s take a look at some lines for tonight’s game.
Sixers vs. Clippers, 10:00 p.m. ET, NBA TV
Pick ATS: Sixers +4.5
There’s some built in value of taking the Sixers and the points. For one, they’ve won 6 of 7 games with Joel Embiid sidelined with a knee injury. If you get on the line now, there’s a chance Kawhi and Morris sit out again (though chances are they’ll return). Even with the Clips at full-strength, the Sixers are deep enough to make this a game. There’s a little bit of narrative here as well, which we definitely need to overreact to. Doc Rivers is returning to face the Clippers for the first time since being fired after the playoffs and landing in Philly. I’ll take the Sixers getting points.
Player Prop: Danny Green O2.5 3-Pointers Made (+135)
This line could be a trap. It also could be free money. That’s how betting works. Recent performance is definitely on Green’s side. He’s made at least 3 from beyond the arc in five straight games. Perhaps the addition of George Hill will take shots and minutes away from Green. Chances are Rivers will continue to give Green big minutes. If that’s the case, he’ll get plenty of outside shot attempts. The Clippers have great wing defenders but I think in a tight game, Green plays around 30 minutes for his defense. Since we’re getting juice on the line, I think Green will shoot enough to get over this number.
