Pick against the spread, best player prop for Grizzlies vs. Jazz

We go over some of the best betting options for Saturday’s matchup between the Memphis Grizzlies and Utah Jazz.

The Utah Jazz host the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday night. The Jazz and Grizz are playing the second end of a back-to-back set. Utah held off Memphis in the first game 117-114 on 35 points from Donovan Mitchell and 25 from Rudy Gobert. The Grizzlies’ defense has been non-existent and Ja Morant needs more help from his supporting cast. Still, the Grizzlies have stayed competitive enough to be in the play-in tournament mix again this season. Let’s take a look at the lines for Game 2.

Grizzlies vs. Jazz, 9:00 p.m. ET, NBA League Pass

Pick ATS: Jazz -10

It’s surprising that the line is this high considering how tight these two teams played the last game. Still, the Jazz have won 18 straight games at home and I don’t think anything changes there heading into Saturday. Utah still has a margin of victory of 13.5 at home this season. The Jazz just need to tighten things up on defense really and not let the Grizz shoot 40 percent from beyond the arc. I think it’s more likely we see a repeat offensive performance from Mitchell and the Jazz than Morant and the Grizz.

Player Prop: Ja Morant O32.5 Pts + Rebs + Asts (-113)

If you think the game will be up and down and similar to the first contest, this line seems way too low. Morant combined for 47 points, rebounds and assists in Friday’s loss with 32 points, 11 assists and 4 rebounds. In nothing else, Morant will need a high volume of shots to keep the Grizzlies in this game, similar to the first game. Morant did a nice job getting to the line 11 times and Rudy Gobert is clearly hampered a bit by that hip injury. My thinking is Morant will score and get most of what we need from that. Then he’d just need to get around his season average in assists (7.6) to get us over the line.
