Dolphins trade 12th overall and 2022 first rounder to Eagles for 6th overall

The Miami Dolphins are doing some major wheeling and dealing today. After trading their No. 3 overall NFL Draft pick to the 49ers for the No. 12 pick and three future first rounders, they’ve sent the 12th pick and a 2022 first rounder to the Eagles. In return, the Dolphins will get the Eagles No. 6 pick.

Plans for the No. 6 pick could be varied, but the Dolphins will likely look at the offensive line or wide receiver to help out their sophomore quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. Tackle Penei Sewell out of Oregon would be a nice addition to keep Tagovailoa safe as he develops, but even with Will Fuller and DaVante Parker in the fold, Ja’Marr Chase could be a huge piece for a run in the playoffs.

In the end, the Dolphins traded their No. 3 pick while moving to No. 6 overall and acquiring two future first rounders. These moves should help solidify Tagovailoa as the no-doubt starter, as they lost ground in the quarterback pecking order, but there is no doubt they have someone in mind when it comes to the sixth overall pick.
