Tale of the Tape for Stipe Miocic vs. Francis Ngannou heavyweight fight at UFC 260

In the main event title bout at heavyweight for UFC 260, Stipe Miocic will take on Francis Ngannou Saturday live from Las Vegas and available on ESPN+ PPV. It will be the second bout between these two accomplished MMA practicioners, as they fought at UFC 220 in January 2018 where Miocic defeated Ngannou by unanimous decision.

The 38-year-old Miocic enters the octagon with a professional fighting record of 20-3, and is champion of the heavyweight division. Ranked third in the men’s pound-for-pound rankings, the veteran last competed at UFC 252 in August 2020, defeating Daniel Cormier by unanimous decision in the last bout of their trilogy.

The champion averages 4.90 strikes per minute, with an accuracy of 52%. But the 38-year-old Miocic only absorbs 3.75 strikes per minute, while he defends against them at 55%. The Ohio native has a 1.92 takedown average per 15 minutes with a 34% takedown accuracy.

As for Ngannou, he walks into the main event with a professional fighting record of 15-3. He is currently ranked first in the heavyweight division and 13th in the men’s pound-for-pound rankings. “The Predator” last fought in May 2020 at UFC 249, where he defeated Jairzinho Rozenstruik by knockout in Round 1. Out of his 15 professional wins, Ngannou has 11 via KO or TKO.

The 34-year-old Cameroonian-French fighter lands 2.23 significant strikes per minute with 37% accuracy. He also absorbs fewer strikes than his opponent at 2.03 per minute and defends against them at 47%.
