MLB Opening Day for the 2021 season is only a few weeks away. After a shortened 2020 season, all 30 teams are starting with zero wins and the singular goal of winning the World Series. The St. Louis Cardinals will be one of those teams looking to take a significant leap this season.
The Cardinals finished last season with a record of 30-28 and second place in the NL Central. We will be taking a look at their win total for this season and discussing if they will be going over or under using odds from DraftKings Sportsbook.
St. Louis Cardinals Over 86.5 wins (-112)
The Cardinals don't have the flashiest names or players but they are somehow always in contention to win the NL Central. Last season, St. Louis did not win the division, but still made the playoffs are one of the three wild card teams. The Cards are trying to go to the playoffs for the third-straight season.
In the offseason, they made a blockbuster trade to get Nolan Arenado from the Colorado Rockies. One of the baseball’s best third basemen should be a nice compliment to Paul Goldschmidt in the batting order and help solidify the defense. Outside of last season, St. Louis has gone over 86.5 wins three times since 2015.
